`Chapter twenty-seven..

Mom confused me with her words.

"Will you be happy if I take you to London?" Ha?

Why is mom asking such a question? I don't know pero..

"Answer me, Kath.."
"Pero Ma.. Bakit-"
"Just say yes or no."

I sighed. I can't lie so..

"No. I'm happy just to be here."

I anwered and waited for mom's reaction. Awtz. I think I've hurt mom..

"Is that so..?"

She stood up and went to the drawer.

"Bakit po ba Ma..? Why are you asking? Even if I said No, we'll still leaving right."

Humarap sakin si Mama na may hawak na ewan pero pahaba siya.

"What's that?" I asked,
"Your ticket."
"My ticket-?"

And with just a second, pinunit ni Mama yung ticket ko.. I was SHOCKED. Super duper shocked.

"Why did you-?"
"If you don't want to come, then don't."

Mom said. She smiled.

"Pero.. Pero Ma.."
"It's alright. Mas gusto kong maging masaya ka. Ayokong dalhin ka sa isang lugar na ayaw mo naman pala.. Mas malulungkot lang ako kung nandun ka nga, pero ang puso't isipan mo, naiwan naman dito."

Mom told me.

Slowly, I felt that my mouth's forming a smile. My heart's beating fast dahil sa sobrang tuwa.

I'll not be leaving. I'll not be going away from everyone, from Aaron.. From Kyle..

I held Mom's hands tight.

"Salamat Ma.. Thank you.. Thank you very much.. Really, mother knows best!" Mom smiled.
"Of course."
"P-Pero.. Paano ka..?"

Mom smiled at me and tapped my head.

"Tatapusin ko lang yung kontrata ko tapos babalik ako dito at titira tayo lahat dito, okay ba?"
"Yeah! Yeah!"
"So, ano pang hinintay mo? Malapit na mag pasko. Mag twe-twelve na."
"What I'm waiting for?"
"Yeah. Go, Kath. Go to the person you'd want to spend your life with."

Yeah. Ano pa bang hinintay ko?!
I stood up and rushed out of the room.

Yes! Siguradong matutuwa si Aaron! Pag baba ko ng hagdan, nabunggo ko si Jan.

"Sorry!"
"Mukhang nagmamadali ka ah."
"Yes! Jan, I'm not leaving! I'm staying here!" I yelled.
"That's great!"
"Yeah! Bye!!" I yelled again and rushed out the door.

"AARON?! AARON?!" I called.
Akala ko nandito lang siya sa labas?! Asan ka na?! Siguradong matutuwa ka Aaron! We don't need to stay away from each other anymore!!

AARON'S POV:

Hay naku, I don't feel like going home at all. Siguradong mas mabuting mag spend ako ng Christmas alone kasi talaga namang lagi akong alone pag Christmas.

My step-mom goes away while I'm left alone. Sus, sanay na rin naman ako e.

I closed my eyes but I saw Kath's face. Damn. Ano ba 'to? I should forget about her already. FORGET ABOUT HER.
It will be fine. You're used to be alone, Aaron. Kaya hindi mo kailangang mag sayang ng panahon na isipin na may kasama ka.

It's better since for sure, she'll be moving on. Baka pag balik niya, fiance na niya yung 'Jason'..

I sighed.

Sige na, uuwi na nga lang ako.

I started walking.

"Aaron..."

I heard from somewhere. Anu yun? Someone's calling me. Pero mahina lang. Tsk.

Pero as I walk, I start hearing my name louder and louder.

"Who is it?"

I heard footsteps at isang figure. Malabo kasi madilim e. Wala pang ilaw.

"Aaron!!"
"Huh-?"

Someone jumped to me. It was Kath. Nahulog kami sa lapag.

"Aww." Hinatak niya ako. Napaupo kami sa lapag.

"Bakit..?" I asked.
She must me mad right? Kasi sa pinag gagawa kong katangahan e malamang-

"Do you love me..?" She asked.

Huh? Weird. Pero what should I say? Should I say 'yes'? Or the opposite?

"Bakit?"
"Just say yes or no, idiot."
"O-Oo.." I answered. She smiled and tears started falling from her eyes.

"Bakit..? Nasaktan ba kita?! S-Sorry. Sorry-"
"No.. Hinde noh."

Sagot niya. E bakit siya umiiyak?
Feeling ko tuloy nasaktan ko nanaman siya..

"I love you too, Aaron." I was glad to hear it. But felt lonely at the same time.

"You should stop.. Stop loving me.. There's no point.. Wala na di ba-?"
"Sa tingin mo ba tatanungin kita kung mahal mo ko kung wala?"
"Ano?"
"I'm staying.. Aaron.. I'm staying."

Ewan ko kung ano magiging reaction ko pero.. I immediately hugged her.

"How come..?"
"Mom said she'll let me stay.. Aren't you happy-?"

I kissed her.

"Wasn't just that a proof?"

She smiled and I hugged her once more.

"Merry Christmas, I love you, Kath."
"Merry Christmas.. Aaron.."

And we hugged each other as Christmas started.
